A zinc alloy is a combination of at least two metals, such as zinc and aluminum or zinc and copper with a relatively high melting point, good corrosion resistance, superior strength-to-weight ratio, lower weigh compared to other metals, and easy to work with to create no bake sand castings.

Sand Casting is the process of making cast metal parts using sand molds. This metal casting process utilizes two “match plates” that are used to form the sand (mixed with a “binder”) into the desired shape. The sand mold halves become the “die” used in the casting process. A molten metal such as a zinc alloy is poured into the sand “die” to form the metal castings.

Each part is cleaned of sand, debured, burnished, polished and then plated with first copper then gold or silver (alloy).
